  > DOOMATIC v1.12 (July 27, 1998)
Screenshot of Doomatic. Doomatic is a great deathmatch launcher that we made before Legacy. It supports all the original Doom versions and of course it was updated to support Legacy's 32 players network.

Doomatic will automatically send the SKINS wads with any other wads to all the clients when the server starts a game.

Read > the full features list and you'll love it!
NOTE: Doomatic doesn't support modem/serial play for now.

> HX8 Modem/Serial Launcher for Doom/Heretic/Hexen (17 kb)
HX8 allows you to play Hexen, Doom or related games with up to 8 players together, and this over standard null-modem or modem links. Thanks to in-the-fly compression, it doesn't require much bandwidth, which makes it compatible with Doom Legacy, contrary to Sersetup.

>Final Doom Fix (8 kb)
This patch fixes wrong level names to be displayed in Doom Legacy when using Final Doom. This works with PLUTONIA and EVILUTION. To use the patches type either:
doom3 -dehacked plutonia.deh -file plutonia.wad
doom3 -dehacked evil.deh -file tnt.wad

> Preferred Weapons Order Setup (7 kb)
Sledge Hammer has created a nice little program to edit your Preferred Weapons Order.

>EDITING TOOLS (May 25, 1998)
Documentation and tools for editing around Doom Legacy, and using the new features.

USEFUL STUFF

FOR DOS VERSION
To enjoy the high resolutions video modes with Legacy, you will need a good VESA2 or better driver. Most recent graphics card have a built-in VESA, but using a driver will usually give more video modes.

> SCITECH DISPLAY DOCTOR (Univbe)
SDD is a VESA2-3 driver that enables the extended video modes available on your graphics card, and also speeds up the graphics i/o.
It's a must-have if you want to use the higher video modes in Legacy. Geddit!
> S3VBE318
If you have an S3 based card, you can download the latest version of S3VBE (this version seems to be shareware). It does the same as SDD (above), but is not as complete.
